Store Launch in South Africa

There was lots going on at the Johannesburg store.

There were plenty of celebs and talent in attendance including Lira, Tasha Baxter, Tamara Dey and MTV VJ Fix – they spent time chatting with customers and explaining the campaign…

The website was displayed on a big screen and customers were encouraged to live pledge – this had an impact, South Africa shot to the top of the pledging league!

The Body Shop staff say the atmosphere in  the store was inspiring, they say, “all involved in the campaign launch displayed high levels of energy and enthusiasm!”

At some points you couldn’t even see the tillpoint from the entrance it was so busy!

Check out photos from the launch below…

Launch Day!

Wow, I can’t believe March 23rd has come around so quickly…

There’s lots of great stuff happening around the globe today – so be sure to look out for action whereever you may live…

In New York, here’s going to be something very cool happening in tbe city during the day (i’m not allowed to say what) – but if you’re in Manhattan – then be sure to keep your eyes open!

In Japan there’ll be events taking place in regional stores all around – they’ll be giving out condoms, with the packets having been specially designed by MTV Japan. In the Omotesando store an MTV VJ will be discussing the campaign and the issue…

In Greece, the launch will take place in the main pedestrian street in Athens (outside Ermou flag store) with lots of people who will support the campaign by writing their own safe sex message on a Yes Yes Yes billboard.

In Portugal, there will be a cocktail party with a showcase by Slimmy, a nominee artist for 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards. As campaign ambassador Slimmy will sing songs and speak about the issue.

That’s just a quick update as to what a few countries are up to – but come back here later and we should have lots of photos and video footage of all the events that went on in all countries.

In the meantime, check out the website at yestosafesex.com
